2000-pennysmith THE SOUTH FORK OF THE SMITH RIVER
This picture was taken alongside a public access spot along the South Fork of the Smith. It is a major tributary to the Smith River, and the two forks meet just a little east of Hiouchi up Highway 199, a short drive from The Crescent City Vacation Rental. The forks make a beautiful area with trails and places to access the rivers. The South Fork has produced some very large Steelhead for Fly Fishermen, most notably those wading and fishing with a spey-rod. Bait fishermen do well in both forks and Steelheading is best from December to the end of
March.
