400 year old Cypress just down Pebble Beach

These indominatable evergreens are found along Pebble Beach Drive near the Battery Point Beach House and are amazing in the way they adhere to rocks for their long lives. In the Friday the 13th storm of November, 1981, four of them were blown down in the winds that whipped our Northern California Coast at more than 100 MPH! Fortunately, they were successfully re-planted and are doing quite well. The beach vacation rental is at the east end of Wendall Street (a cul-de-sac) on the Pacific Coast and driving west a few blocks, Pebble Beach Drive becomes the coastal street. This is pleasant residential street and leads to the Airport and Point St. George.
